CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER

Summary of Role

Our client is recruiting for a passionate and experienced Chief Financial Officer who would join the management team. The candidate will be accountable for the administrative, financial, and risk management operations of the company. This will include the development of a financial and operational strategy, metrics tied to that strategy, and the ongoing development and monitoring of control systems designed to preserve company assets and report accurate financial results. This role reports to the CEO.

Company Background

Our client is the largest waste management and recycling company in Kenya. They are active in waste collection, sorting, composting, trading and recycling and are backed by various commercial and philanthropic investors.

The Role

The role will include (but will not be limited to):

- Oversee the company’s fiscal activity, including budgeting, reporting, planning, inventory control and auditing.

- Assure legal and regulatory documents are filed and monitor compliance with laws and regulations.

- Management and improvement of financial systems infrastructure

- Identify and address financial risks and opportunities for the company.

- Supervise finance and data management teams

- Ensure cash flow is appropriate for the organization’s operations

- Review financial reports for ways to reduce costs.

- Monitors and analyses of monthly operational results

 

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for a candidate who has:

- Proven experience as CFO, financial controller or senior auditor.

- Excellent knowledge of data analysis and forecasting methods

- Highly proficient in the use of Excel and financial management software

- At least 7 years of work experience, At least 4 years’ experience in a senior management role.

- BSc/BA in Accounting, Finance or relevant field; MSc/MBA is a plus

- Qualified accountant: CPA/ACCA or equivalent required
