Since its launch in 2011, the cooling technology is currently being used in 49 countries around the world. The invention is already changing lives and is poised to help create a better future by being utilised across multiple sectors, in both developed and emerging economies.

The technology was originally designed for vaccines in developing economies, where there is an urgent need for cold chain innovation. However, there is a great need across all the markets stated in both developing and developed economies, meaning that it is poised to change the way the world cools.

General Overview of role:

As Head of Consumer, you will be responsible for establishing and building a new sales team for the East Africa area to drive sales for all products. Based in Nairobi, the successful candidate will be expected to provide vision, direction and leadership to a newly formed sales team whilst ensuring excellent customer service is provided at all times. This is a new position and therefore the successful candidate will need to be comfortable building new procedures and forming a team who will produce outstanding results.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for sales and creating growth.
  • Build an excellent sales team who understand the market and can drive sales.
  • Analyse the market, customers and competitors in order to produce a sales and opportunities forecast.
  • Develop new sales strategies and revenue plans.
  • Spearhead the sales activity for the company’s newest products.
  • Setup a business development team to support the medical sales in the region, who supply products to the United Nations, Ministries of Health and hospitals.
  • Set sales targets, monitor and analyse team results.
  • Build a portfolio of East African distributors and develop excellent, meaningful partnerships with them.
    Desired Attributes:
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience within a senior sales/ business development team.
  • Minimum 3 years of leading and growing a sales team.
  • Fluent in Swahili  Excellent telephone, client facing, meeting and presentation skills.
  • Experience of working in a fast-paced organisation.
  • The ability to make quick decisions on behalf of the team.
  • To be able to work independently, with confidence.
  • Excellent communication and motivational skills.
  • Qualified to work in Kenya.
  • Passport holder.
