SUMMARY OF THE ROLE
Investment Manager
Investment Manager is an energetic and ambitious self-starter with outstanding financial and analytical skills, who can identify potential investment opportunities, independently assess their financial and operational performance, and support transaction negotiation.
The Investment Manager also has experience in company valuation modeling and understands deal structuring (including equity and debt). He/ she will coordinate the overall investment process, develop and maintain qualitative network including co-investors, non-financial support organizations and financial service providers in a targeted area and monitor social and financial performance and development of investee companies.
The Ideal Candidate should be able to:
- Act as an ambassador for the company and keep track of social venture developments in the specific targeted area (sector and geographic focus)
- Source potential investments that are in line with the company's mission
- Coordinate the overall investment process
- Responsible for screening, performing a quick scan and due diligence
- Write an investment proposal and negotiate conditions with investee company and co-investors
- Monitor social and financial performance and development of investee companies
- Keep team, investment committee and Board informed and updated about developments in portfolio
- Steer towards high social return on investments
- Coordinate proceedings of Investment analyst and coach and mentor Investment analyst in daily work
- Act as a country/sector leader for the company: develop and maintain relevant network regarding country/sector; gain and maintain in-depth knowledge of country/sector developments and help develop the capital market in a designated area
- Hold Board position in investee companies and report to the investment committee, the company's Board as well as to other relevant parties
- Draft parts of the annual long term plan for the company and translate plans to strategies for portfolio development
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Master in Finance, Economy, Business Administration, Law or related field.
- More than 8 years of relevant work experience of which 3-5 years in business administration or finance
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

- Deep knowledge and experience in financial performance reporting across different sectors.
- Robust financial, modeling and business analysis skills, conducting financial due diligence, market assessment, and valuation.
- Strong communication and social skills and the ability to work within a multi-cultural team environment.
- Experience and exposure to working in East Africa.
